Richard Trauger

Mr. Trauger is primarily responsible for strategic planning, capital planning and stress testing, customer statistical analysis and visualization, and financial analytics and modeling for The Kafafian Group’s (TFG) financial institution clients. During his 30-year career in financial services, Mr. Trauger has successfully complete over three dozen merger and acquisition, capital market, and financial advisory assignments for financial institutions, with an aggregate transaction value of approximately $2.6 billion.
In addition to client facing assignments, Mr. Trauger’s subject matter expertise is in demand as an instructor and expert witness. Mr. Trauger developed the curriculum for and taught Advanced Topics in Bank Valuation, an SNL Financial, L.C. (now S&P Global Market Intelligence) professional seminar. He is also a faculty member at the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking, the Pennsylvania Bankers Association School of Banking and Advanced School of Banking.
Early in his career, Mr. Trauger was a financial analyst with Dauphin Deposit Corporation (now M&T Bank Corporation) before becoming an investment banker with Tucker Anthony Sutro Capital Markets (now RBC Capital Markets).
Rich holds an undergraduate degree from Penn State University (Harrisburg) and the license of Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. His professional designations include Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA®), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA®), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®), and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®). Mr. Trauger is eligible to sit for the Level III exam as administered by the CFA Institute.
